Waterfalls of Iceland

... well some of them anyway.

We probably saw 100's of waterfalls during our 5 day roadtrip (a Photo Experience Days Holiday) around the southern bit of Iceland, but there were 5 we stopped at to experience and photograph properly.

The first we found by the side of the road, as far as I can tell doesn't even have a name.  Three of them are rather well known, with Gullfoss being the most famous, followed probably by Seljalandfoss (the one you can walk behind), and Skogafoss.  It was raining heavily while we were at Skogafoss, so sadly we weren't able to really get any good photos of it.

Probably my favourite photos come from a much less popular waterfall that we found by chance on a back road while looking for a view of Eyjafjallajökull (the volcano that erupted in 2010 causing flights all across Europe to be grounded for a few days). Gluggafoss is the final photo here.

I could have spent longer at all of them, all amazing in their own ways.

Beard be gone

The beard has gone, and lots of money has been donated to a good cause as a result.

At the time of writing we have raised £285 for Southampton Hospital Charity.  I picked them because they are very local, and because Southampton Hospital looked after my Dad so well in his final days.

There is still time to donate, and if we can get up to £1000 then I'll do the make up picture.

Thanks to Gary Porter for taking the photos.  There is absolutely no truth to the rumour that it was his favourite PED to date!
